5 BEAUTY TIPS for AN EVEN TONE, RADIANT SKIN

5 BEAUTY TIPS for AN EVEN TONE, RADIANT SKIN

My five (5) beauty tips came from years of failed experiments, and it wasn’t until I learned to accept and love my natural beauty did I find a perfect simple skincare routine that works for me. Women, especially Black women face many challenges when it comes to finding contentment with the way their skin looks and feels.

When I was growing up, I heard people talking about this girl or this woman having beautiful skin, it meant they were light-skinned. Two decades later, I can finally say I have accomplished a natural glowy skin without having to bleach my perfect melanated skin. Would you like to know my beauty secret? Everyone can have gorgeous skin by having a well-principled life.

To say we all want to have great skin is an understatement. The skin is our biggest organ, and it is the first thing people see when stepping into the world. We want our skin to look flawless, but for many of us, especially if you have darkly pigmented skin, the blemishes, the uneven tones, the dry skin, the dark spots, acne, enlarged pores can become a daily torment. We must understand what our skin needs and how to take care of it in a healthy manner.

I have listed some of my most memorable beauty tips and natural skincare products for your face to start your glowing skin journey. These skin tips cost you nothing and more importantly, you are able to tackle your skin problems or needs while preserving the integrity of your natural skin.

DON’T WASH YOUR FACE WITH TAP WATER

Tap water contains not only chlorine but also other toxins that can be harmful. Tap water is cheap and readily accessible from your bathroom as long as you pay your monthly water bill. However, the additives such as minerals and chloride that make tap water drinkable are the ones making your skin less healthy. The compounds that make the water drinkable are the ones that will leave your skin feeling dry and looking rough. Moreover, tap water also contains clandestine poisons such as lead and plastic microfibres that could be contributing to a hose of skin issues.

The Environmental Working Group (EWG) also highlighted some additional pollutants detected in tap water like chromium, monochloroacetic, haloacetic acids, molybdenum, nitrates, strontium, vanadium, and fluoride. Yes, some of these additives might be beneficial for curing the water that we drink. But, your skin is already sensitive as it fights billions of unknown pollutants in the ecosystem. My beauty tip for your journey to achieving flawless, radiant skin starts with the water you use to keep it clean.

GETTING A GREAT NIGHT SLEEP IS ALSO KEY TO A RADIANT SKIN.

All your expensive skincare products can only do so much. Your skin has its language as well as its immune system. When deprived of proper rest, the skin can become relentless by looking overstretched. Getting a great night of sleep will improve the elasticity of the skin. So, stop letting those expensive moisturizers sit on your skin. And, in the event you are not in a position to get at least five hours of sleep nightly, I highly encourage that you take short naps throughout the day and drink plenty of water.

PRACTICING SELF-CARE KEEPS YOUR SKIN LOOKING FLAWLESS.

Being a mother of two, a mompreneur, and a full-time attorney have left me with very little t time to pamper myself. Funnily, you cannot achieve greatness unless you prioritize your physical and mental wellbeing. Great skin runs beneath the surface . Thankfully, as soon as I began practicing self-care, my skin started looking more smooth and radiant. I no longer have sporadic breakouts.

Failure to practice self-care means that you neglect the skin. Our skin is one of the most effective defenders against foreign invaders. my beauty tip for you is to stop feeling guilty for wanting to have your me, myself, and I time. As we all know, stress ages the skin by at least ten years. Self-care helps to alleviate stress in your life. This self-investment will not only improve the quality of your life but will also improve your skin.

INCORPORATE WORKOUTS INTO YOUR SKINCARE REGIMEN

Working out is good for more than losing weight and preventing weight gain. Exercising at least 2.5 to 5 hours each week can help increase blood flow, and in turn, helps nourish skin cells. The blood vessels carry oxygen and nutrients. Hence, a good blood flow is necessary to keep the cells and the skin functioning properly. Having a good blood flow also helps carry away waste products like free radicals from working cells.

You must protect your skin from UV by adding sunscreen to your daily skincare routine. Many of us do not have the time to incorporate one or more of these steps into our daily routine. If you are one of those people, try to use a moisturizer or facial oil that contains Vitamin D. My skincare line Beautelanin has a great Vitamin D3 Facial Oil. Sun damage is one of the leading causes of early signs of premature wrinkles, skin cancer, hyperpigmentation, dark spots, uneven skin tone, and the list goes on. So, do not neglect this step.

YOUR SKIN IS AS HEALTHY AS THE FOOD YOU EAT

Do you remember this proverb: like minds stick together. As the saying goes: tell me who your friends are, and I will tell you who you are. You can say the same about your skin and your eating habits. The food you eat can alter the way your skin looks. Our bodies produce collagen and keratin to help protect the cells in our bodies. If your body is deficient in necessary nutrients, the cells will not function as they should. It is vital to feed the skin with proper nutrients to keep it well hydrated by drinking plenty of water.

Keep yourself hydrated and keep your skin smooth. When you deprive your skin of sufficient water, you are only adding years to your appearance. By drinking plenty of water daily, you are promoting the fast turnover rate of the cells.

There isn’t one way to have beautiful skin. It is not enough to rely on expensive products often laced with harmful toxins. The little things that you do every day are the ones that will determine how your skin looks now and what it will look like a decade later. So, which of these steps will you be incorporating into your daily routine?
